This is a year-long series of classes. We meet once a month, sometimes for a single day, sometimes for a weekend. Our focus over the course of these thirteen sessions is on building a strong personal spiritual practice in shamanism. For some, this IS the goal. For others, this course helps create the foundation for moving into study of the shamanic healing practices.
Among the topics we’ll cover:
— Journeying to Upper, Middle and Lower Worlds
— Building strong and trusting alliances with one’s own Power Animals and Guides
— Ethical considerations
— Working with Spirits of Nature
— Crafting tools (projects include pouches, rattles and masks)
— Creating ritual
— Psychopomp and afterlife-related work (aka Death & Dying)
— Working with ancestor and descendant spirits
— Working with the ecologically-based Medicine for the Earth material
— Creation of community within the group for continued studies and support
— Techniques for personal healing
— Projected: Wild-area field trip, museum visit, sweat lodge
and much more
At the deepest heart of this year’s work is - vitally - the creation of a vibrant personal path within the practice of shamanism.

Participants, please plan to attend all classes, and to do a realistic amount of independent work between meetings. There is generally no provision for making up missed classes.
