2010 Schedule so far:
Beginning Shamanism - Weekend Workshop
Saturday & Sunday, February 27 & 28, 2010, from 10 am to about 5:30 pm
Sliding scale - $100 - $130
Private Denver-area location; space is limited
Call 720-216-0005 or email for more information and to register.
How can we better embrace life with heart and spirit? We each have a personal direct-line to spirit, but may need some help to reawaken it. Whether you’re new to shamanism or want to build on what you already have, this workshop is designed to help. Explore shamanic journeying in depth as you enhance your journey-confidence and build community with others who share this practice.
We’ll work with the Lower, Upper and Middle Worlds through a variety of journeys; create context and structure for your practice; trouble-shoot any questions that arise; look a bit at healing, divination and the history of shamanism; and then - yes! - do more journeying, the profound and playful heart of this path. No prior experience is necessary.
The Power Animal Journey: Intro to Shamanism
Saturday, March 27, from 1:00 to 3:00 pm — $20
Isis Metaphysical Books, 2775 S. Broadway, Englewood, CO
Call 303-761-8627 to register.
(Isis policy requires payment when you register, to assure holding your place in the class. Isis accepts cash and checks for classes; to pay with a credit card via PayPal, please contact me directly here.)
The ability to intentionally shift into a trance state and commune with the spirit plane is an asset to many spiritual paths, and the shamanic journey is one very dependable means of doing that.
This brief class is an experiential introduction to Core Shamanism through the experience of the power animal journey. If you’re wondering what shamanism is or how it might compliment (or BE) your spiritual path, this is a great place to start. There’s a bit of talk — explaining terminology, procedures and such — but then we move into the journey itself.
You may repeat this class in the future without charge, to refine your journeying technique, have some community, or simply to hear a live drum.

About Shamanic Workshops:
I’ve been teaching the basics of shamanic journeying since 1989, received most of my training through Michael Harner’s Foundation for Shamanic Studies, and recently completed Sandra Ingerman’s rigorous two-year-long Teachers’ Training. This is often called Core Shamanism, but over the past two decades, my personal practice has evolved organically and probably doesn’t always follow the relatively-strict Harner definition. For more details about my training and preparation as a teacher, please click here.
The two-hour introductory class on the basic Power Animal journey is offered in the Denver area several times throughout the year.
I teach in the Denver area and along the Colorado Front Range.
For a fine practitioner in the Colorado Springs area, I recommend Roxanne Roberts as another teacher from the Two-Year Training program who does wonderful work. We also teach classes together on occasion. To reach Roxanne, please visit: www.SacredHoopMinistry.org
