Shamanic Drumming Circle

2nd Tuesday each month:

Please join us for shamanic journeying, drumming, ceremony and invocation of spirit on the 2nd Tuesday of each month.

This is an gathering for us to come together, to shift consciousness and travel on the drum's vibration, to enter Non-Ordinary Reality and connect with our spirit guides, power animals and teachers for the healing and guidance they can provide.  Circle is facilitated by Renna Shesso.  While my own background leans towards Core Shamanism, this group welcomes all traditions and levels of experience.

We meet in the upstairs chapel of the First Unitarian Society of Denver.  Doors open at 6:45 PM.  At 7:00 PM, we'll formally call the quarters, set intention and begin.  We'll have time for several journeys - and the evocative drumming and dance that support them - then will formally close the circle and depart by 9 PM.  Some brief discussion/Q&A perhaps, but mostly journeying, the avenue of spiritual connection which is at the heart of this practice.

For more information about this group, go to our MeetUp page

Please bring: Drums and rattles, note-taking materials, and your good intentions.  Optional: Back rests, bandanas or Mind-folds to cover your eyes, a blanket to lay on.
To help assure that this is a safe and nurturing place in which to do our spiritual work, these gatherings are drug- and alcohol-free.

(Note: Total beginner?  Merry meet!  Journeying experience is not a prerequisite to attend, but note that this is not a class.  We'll run through basic how-to material on request, since some folks DO pick this up very readily.  For a written introduction to this path, Sandra Ingerman's book Shamanic Journeying: A Beginner's Guide, which comes with a CD of drumming, is a great resource.  If there's interest, we'll arrange special times specifically to teach a beginning class — just let us know — or click to find Introductory classes.)

Location: 1400 Lafayette in Denver, in the 1st Unitarian church.
Time: Doors open at 6:45 PM, we'll circle at 7 PM
Fee: By donation, $5 to $10 suggested.
